Are signatures from Sign legally binding under ESIGN/UETA?
Yes. In the U.S., Sign's signatures meet ESIGN Act / UETA requirements for most everyday contracts: explicit consent, a deliberate act of signing, and a full audit trail (timestamp, IP address, and a hash of the document before and after signing). This is a simple electronic signature, not a certified/qualified signature verifying government ID.
Does a signer need an account?
No. A recipient opens their signing link, signs, and confirms, without creating an account or installing anything.
Is there a free plan?
Yes, permanently free, not a trial: 3 envelopes a month with a full audit trail, no card required. Paid plans start at $8/mo for higher volume.
What file types can I send?
PDF only, for now. If you have a Word document or similar, export or save it as a PDF first, then upload that.
How securely is my document stored?
Documents and signed files are stored in Cloudflare R2, encrypted at rest, and only reachable through a signed, token-gated link, either your own authenticated session or a recipient's unique signing link. See the security page for the full detail.
Can I remind someone who hasn't signed yet?
Yes. Every pending recipient on your dashboard has a remind button that resends their invite. Envelopes that go untouched for a few days also get an automatic reminder.
